Glossopdale patients can find out more about new Integrated Care system

People who want to find out more about the new Derbyshire Integrated Care System which will provide healthcare for Glossopdale residents can do so at a virtual information session.

A second session has been arranged by Joined Up Care Derbyshire and will take place on Tuesday 15 March from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

People can register for the event by going to bit.ly/Glossop-ICS

Anyone who can't join but still has questions can call Healthwatch Derbyshire on 01773 880786.

Currently, healthcare for people in Glossopdale is provided by the NHS in Tameside and Glossop and social care is provided by Derbyshire County Council.

Last summer, it was decided that Glossop healthcare services should not move into the Greater Manchester ICS but instead be part of the Derby and Derbyshire ICS.

The move was criticised for a lack of consultation and concerns were raised about what it would mean for patients.

Health bosses say there are no proposed changes right now or for the next 12 months.

But health and care organisations across Derbyshire and Tameside are running a series of events for people to ask questions and find out more about how changes may impact on the future delivery of services for Glossopdale residents.

Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) are designed to help healthcare (usually provided by the NHS) and social care (usually provided by the local authority or council) work more closely together.
