The Bureau in Glossop has selected its next Chief Officer – its current Health and Wellbeing Manager Natalie Rhodes.

She will take over the role at the Community Wellbeing Charity and Volunteer Centre in December from colleague Damien Greenhalgh, who has been the organisation’s Interim Chief Officer.

Welcoming the appointment, The Bureau’s Chair of the Board of Trustees, Sue Nash said: “We are all looking forward working with her.

“Following a rigorous recruitment process, it was felt that Natalie had the attributes and experience to continue and develop the vision and strategy of the Bureau going forward.”

With a background in the probation service and community wellbeing, improving opportunities and life outcomes for disadvantaged and marginalised people, Nat is keen to continue the growth and development of the Bureau for the people of Glossopdale and surrounding areas.

She said: “I feel absolutely delighted and privileged to be offered the role of Chief Officer at the Bureau!”

Thanking her predecessor Sophie Glinka for her passion, vision and drive in developing the charity Nat said: “I am now in the fortunate position of picking up the Chief Officer role at a time where we have a high functioning culture, vision and a positive reputation.

“This combined with such a strong, talented and committed team of staff and volunteers makes my transition into this role much easier.

“There are some challenges ahead, new health boundaries to navigate, new relationships to make and nurture, and decisions to be made as to how we best manage the ongoing effects of the COVID pandemic to name but a few.”

However, she said by putting the needs of local people at the forefront of their decision making, she is confident that The Bureau will continue to thrive and serve the community well.

Nat wants to ensure that The Bureau continues to be relevant, supportive, and current in responses to local need and open to new opportunities, partnerships, and work streams as they arise.

“What an exciting new chapter we have ahead of us, I can’t wait to share the journey with you all!”
