Conversion plans for old Masonic Hall in Glossop

Plans have been submitted for a Masonic Hall in Glossop to be converted to create two new homes.

The application, made to High Peak Borough Council, is for the Masonic Hall located on Hague Street.

The proposals are to create one four-bedroomed and one four/five bedroomed property, with the majority of bedroomed being en-suite.

Supporting documents state the subdivision of the building is the only way of making this particular heritage asset viable for long-term sustainability.

They add that the proposals do not alter the building except in a positive way and they consider the changes would not have a detrimental effect on the conservation area.

Two letters of objection have been received to date highlighting concerns including the impact the development would have on traffic and parking on an already busy street.

The plans are available to view on the council’s website www.highpeak.gov.uk
