Top trio back for more at FC United gig

Clint Boon, Dave Sweetmore and MC Tunes return to FC United's Broadhurst Park on Saturday February 24th.

I’ve been working as a club and concert DJ on the Manchester music circuit for a very long time, and over the years legendary Inspiral Carpets keyboard player Clint Boon and ‘Madchester’s’ most iconic rap artist MC Tunes, both also respected club DJs, have not only become two people I regularly work with, but two of my best friends to work and spend time with.

So last year, when FC United of Manchester got in touch with us and asked the three of us to do a special one-off night together in their players’ lounge at the clubs Broadhurst Park stadium, it was something in which we all jumped at the chance of doing.

A local gig, with great people, who understand what the scene we work on is all about and want to have a great time.

The event sold out and was an amazing night, and due to its success, we will be returning for part two on Saturday February 24th, and will once again celebrate the amazing musical legacy that Greater Manchester has created over the years, along with its influences, right up to the present day.

From old school dance classics and Hacienda favourites to the amazing indie scene created by the likes of Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets, Northside, Space Monkeys, The Smiths, New Order, 808 State, Joy Division, Oasis, and more recently Courteeners and Twisted Wheel, along with a huge amount of great new bands, many of who have featured in Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature.

Added to that the amazing urban and Hip Hip scene, the whole night will celebrate all of the music we love and cherish and are proud of.

Steven Nolan, the man behind SDN Events, who came up with the idea of hosting the night at FC United, said ‘Clint, Dave, and MC Tunes are well known, time served, and respected DJ’s on the Manchester music scene, and work regularly at gigs and festivals in the area, but to have them all returning to FC United to play on the same night, in an intimate setting for just 200 people, will be another really special night, for both FC United, and all of those who buy tickets’.

It really is going to be a great night, which all three of us are excited for.

Tickets can be bought on Skiddle by searching FC United, or any of our names. Doors open at 7pm and the night is for over 18’s only and is sponsored by JBS Groundcare and More Than Training. PA and Lighting on the night comes from Crash Audio.

It would be great to see you at FC United on Saturday February 24th, it’s guaranteed to be another brilliant, happy, dancefloor filling night.
