More than 40 people turned out to give up their time to help clean up parts of the Tame Valley on Sunday (20 June).
It was the first official group activity for the Friends of Tame Valley since lockdown restrictions have eased.
Volunteers went around Shepley Wood in Audenshaw, parts of Jet Amber Fields and around Whittles Meadows during two separate litter-picks.
A spokesperson for the group said: "Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who came out on Father's Day to our first official group activity. Despite the area being cleaner than for a long time (thanks to our fantastic volunteers) we still found more litter!
"A great team effort all round. If you'd like to be involved in volunteering with the Friends of the Tame Valley, please email ajgwynne@sky.com."
The residents and volunteers were also joined by Denton MP Andrew Gwynne, as well as Denton North East councillors Allison Gwynne and Denise Ward.
MP Gwynne described it as an "absolutely fantastic morning" and said "the valley is looking great" whilst thanking everyone who turned up to help.
