June 15 marks World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, a day dedicated to recognising and tackling adult abuse worldwide.
The Tameside Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (TASPB) is starting important conversations on defining abuse, explaining how to raise a concern and promoting best practices in safeguarding.
This year, TASPB is focusing on supporting Tameside's carers, raising awareness about adult abuse and self-neglect, learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews and addressing the impact of the cost of living crisis.
On Monday, June 10, from 9:30am to 12:30pm, locals can visit the Tameside Carers Centre in Tameside One to meet representatives from partner organisations and find out about their responses to adult safeguarding concerns.
Some of the organisations present will include Greater Manchester Police, Jigsaw, Citizens Advice, Healthwatch and Tameside Adult Social Care.
