Stalybridge pub celebrated successful charity fun day

A fun-filled family day at a Stalybridge pub raised £600 for Camberwell Park Specialist Support School.

The event, which took place on May 27 at The Astley Arms, received a "brilliant" turnout - with ice buckets, bingo, "name the teddy" and even landlady Cheryl being "gunged".

"It was a simple thing that spiralled a little bit really," attendee Robert said.

"It was quite spontaneous - I think a customer approached the landlord and landlady about donating a small amount to the school but then it quickly became quite a bit event and we raised so much. The weather wasn't brilliant but we had a great day and definitely hoping to do more things like this in future!"
