Spring Job Fair returns to Tameside

Jobseekers will have the opportunity to launch themselves into a new career when they can find out about a host of live vacancies at a local event.

The Tameside Spring Job Fair will be held on Thursday 28 April in Dukinfield Town Hall between 10am and 1pm.

The event is easily accessible. Bus routes run through stopping right outside the venue, with the 330 bus passing through from Hyde or Ashton. For those travelling by car, the town hall has a car park behind the building which charges 50p for 4 hours.

The event, sponsored by Ingeus and Robertson Facilities Management, is open to everyone and there are expected to be over 600 attendees; previous job fairs have seen over 1,000 applications for roles on the day with some attendees offered jobs to start the following day.

Employers attending to share a variety of opportunities across Tameside include The Village Hotel, Stagecoach, JD Sports, Almond Family Pubs and Office Depot. Vacancies on offer cover a range of job sectors including hospitality, retail, driving, cleaning, health & social care, construction, finance and administration.

Anyone attending is encouraged to bring copies of their CV along to share with employers.

There will also be local support services present that can help residents progress in their careers, skills or qualifications.

Sarah Jamieson, Tameside Council head of Economy, Employment and Skills, said: “I’m delighted that face-to-face job fairs are now returning to Tameside after the pandemic, when we held them online. The Spring Job Fair is the perfect opportunity to bring jobseekers together with businesses that have live vacancies. We’re excited to provide an environment where our residents can proactively seek work and chat with recruiters about the available jobs.”
