Shopping centre brings festive magic to Ashton this Christmas

Arcades Shopping Centre ran a series of Covid-safe campaigns to bring festive magic to the people of Ashton once again for 2020.

Following what has been a challenging year for everyone, the centre is providing an exciting line-up of activities and numerous prize giveaways to spread the Christmas cheer throughout this festive period.

Although Christmas may be a little different this year, it certainly wasn’t cancelled at Arcades Shopping Centre! From non-essential store reopenings in December, the centre went full swing into festive celebrations to help entertain families this Christmas - all whilst remaining Covid-safe.

Throughout December, Arcades invited shoppers down to the centre to help spot Santa’s Little Helpers hidden in store windows! Shoppers were invited to pick up their entry form from the mall or download it from the website, find the Elves and post your entry to be in with the chance of winning a brilliant hamper from Ashton Market to enjoy with their loved ones this Christmas.

Santa Claus also popped down to Ashton recently to see who has been naughty or nice, and whilst he was here, he visited Arcades Shopping Centre to do some shopping. The centre team managed to film him during his visit and posted the videos on social media this December. All shoppers had to do was watch the centre's online videos, guess which shop Santa was visiting and be in with the chance to win amazing prizes throughout the month.

Arcades Shopping Centre also ran a Twelve Days of Christmas competition, giving followers the chance to win prizes that got bigger each day. This meant that over the month of December the shopping centre and its retailers have given out over 20 prizes.

Plus, families are invited to get creative at home by visiting the centre's website to download festive activity packs filled with magical crafts, recipes, and colouring sheets all completely free. Once you have finished your masterpiece, send a photo to the centre on social media to spread some joy over the holidays.

Lynne Picken, Centre Manager at Arcades Shopping Centre, commented: “The Centre is delighted that we can once again hold fantastic entertainment at the Centre to help families feel festive, whilst also remaining safe from COVID-19. From our wonderful Santa trail, to fabulous online competitions, we had something for everyone this year and it’s been lovely to put a smile on the people of Ashton’s face once again this Christmas!”
