Shoppers can enter an iconic Christmas competition

Shoppers are being invited to scoop prizes in Ashton Town Team's 'Search for the Icons' competition.

The competition is up and running now following the end of lockdown and will continue until 17 December.

To take part all you have to do is find 12 characters hidden in the town centre for a chance to win prizes valued from £5 to £50. 

All you need to do when you visit the town centre is go online and find www.ashtonsmallbiz.co.uk and complete an entry form.

Then just fill in your answers to explain where the icons are hiding.

It’s a great, fun and safe competition to enjoy when you visit the town centre for your festive shopping.

Sponsored by Ashton Market, Tameside College and Star Cutouts, the Town Team came up with the idea to create a Covid-safe event this December.

The competition was launched on Small Business Saturday - December 5. 

The areas that you will find the characters hiding in are Penny Meadow, Fletcher Square, Ashton Market Hall, Tameside One, Stamford Street, Wellington Street and Market Avenue. The characters that have been hidden are Elvis, Dr Who, Mickey Mouse, The Nativity, Buddy the Elf, Moana, Dorothy Gale, The Child, The Mandalorian, Wonder Woman, Harry Potter and Capt Jack.
