Rev David Warner column: Now's the time to raise a cuppa for Macmillan

In his latest column, the Vicar of Mossley, Reverend David Warner, encourages people to support local, national and international charities if they can.

On Friday (September 25), many people will hold Macmillan coffee mornings - although not ‘together’ as usual.

We’ll be holding a virtual coffee morning with people joining together via Zoom (including folk from Penny’s parish of St George’s, Stalybridge too).

At difficult times like this it’s easy to forget the many charities and organisations that rely on our help, especially those whose fundraising usually relies on getting people together.

Mossley Cancer Committee are doing their bit to support Macmillan and we hope to as well, and I know that many across our community will do the same, even in these awkward days where different methods are needed!

Supporting our charities and good causes, both locally, national and internationally is as vital now as always.

We do what we can, to help those in need and to support valuable and valued causes which push forward the bounds of research and healthcare.

So, raise a cuppa to Macmillan, and all our national and local charities, and try, if you can, to do your bit too - every penny really counts.
