Get involved in the 'We Love Stalybridge' campaign

A 'We Love Stalybridge' campaign has launched, inviting people all over the town to get involved.

Organised by the Holy Trinity Church (pictured), 'We Love Stalybridge' is a community project that has lots of activities planned for the coming month, all centered around the theme of Hope.

The local team behind the project are going to be delivering 2,000 Covid-safe gift boxes to households in the Holy Trinity’s parish.

They are also encouraging households and businesses to put the ‘We Love Stalybridge’ logo in their windows, to create a sense of togetherness.

Furthermore, in aid of Advent, they are filming interviews with Stalybridge residents and posting these online each day, asking two questions: ‘What do you love about Stalybridge?’ and ‘What are you hopeful for this Christmas?’.

Vicar Gary Kennaugh said: “2020 has been a difficult year and Covid has affected so many of us, with our livelihoods being affected, jobs may have been lost and we can’t see our loved ones. As a church, we want to respond to this, so we’ve been giving gifts to homes, shops and businesses in our parish.

“We’ve decorated our building and our doors will be open for you to come and get in the Christmas spirit and there is a Christmas tree at the front of our church where you’d be most welcome to write the name of someone you want to remember or a prayer.”
