Denton man jailed for raping 12-year-old girl

22-year-old Kade Billington, of Mill Lane, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison and given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. He will also be required to sign the sex offender register for life.

At a previous hearing at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, Billington pleaded guilty to three counts of the rape of a girl under 13-years-old, one count of penetrative sexual activity with a girl under the age of 13, making indecent images of a child and possession of class A drugs.

Detective Constable Mike Allen from GMP’s Operation Phoenix Tameside team said: “Billington met his victim when she was 12-years-old at a party then pursued her online and via social media before luring her back to his house to engage in sexual activity.

“He knew how old his victim was, he was a man in his 20s, he has absolutely no excuse for his grossly inappropriate and predatory behaviour towards a child.

“Investigating officers searching through Billington’s computer found images which predated meeting his victim, which proved to us he is a true predator.

“I would like to commend the victim for her bravery. Billington will now spend the next 13 years in prison where he can no longer be a danger to children.

“I hope today’s result helps the victim try to move on from what must have been an incredibly traumatic experience.”
