Charity helps Ashton youngsters earn their Animal Welfare badge

Youngsters at 12th Ashton cubs and beavers have been studying for their Animal Welfare badge with a little help from Millstream Animal Shelter.

The group, which meets at the Richmond Street Community Centre on Richmond Street in Ashton, was given a talk about the work of the shelter in the community at their meeting last Friday. The children also got to meet one of the rescue centre’s rescued animals - a kitten - which they all had the opportunity to handle.

The group would like to say a huge thank you to Millstream for their valuable visit and the incredible job they do in animal rescue.

The charity, based in Clayton Vale, rescues cats and on occasion ferrets, and is always looking for new homes for the animals.

If you can help the charity contact them on 0161 683 4194 or visit their Facebook site for more details.
