Celebration for new president at Tameside Rotary

Tameside Rotary has a new president. Taking up the reins is Angela Robbins.

Tameside Rotary's past president and this year’s secretary Cliff Hall did the honours by officiating at the installation service.

Also joining them for the celebration was Mohammed Karim who is Tameside Rotary’s new president elect and public relations and public image chair.

Angela says she was so pleased that Cliff and Mohammed could join her outside in her garden and having such lovely weather that day certainly made the occasion more special.

Angela is married to Bruce with two teenage sons. She was a member of Tameside Rotary from its inception and has been PR Chair.

Angela is the owner of successful Well Polished Cleaning Agencies across the region including Tameside and Saddleworth, Stockport, Rochdale and Oldham, Prestwich and Middleton and Blackpool.

Angela is a member of the choir (when Covid rules permit everyone to sing again), Children’s Society Box coordinator and Sacrastan at Christ Church, Ashton.

Amongst her hobbies are pilates and fitness classes where she enjoys online lessons currently with Tameside Pilates, gardening, watching TV and racing.

Mohammed said: “I feel honoured and am looking forward to my Rotary year as vice president with President Angela and other team members.”

Cliff Hall, this year’s secretary, has been a Rotarian for 32 years.

Angela concludes that she feels the enthusiasm she is feeling from not only her council but from the whole of the club, gives her great confidence that they can make some great changes for good across Tameside.

Rotary is always happy to welcome new members, just visit their website www.tamesiderotaryclub.com for details.

She wishes a good year to all of the new presidents across the whole of the North West and Isle of Man district.
