Young footballers demonstrate that the future is flying at Avro

Young footballers are flying high at Avro FC as several of the club’s junior teams demonstrated great achievements on the pitch last month.

An undefeated Avro under-15’s girls’ team were crowned champions of the Bolton and Bury District Sunday League with an impressive two games in hand when they won the competition.

The girls dominated the contest after making the decision to switch over from Saturday league football this season.

Team Manager Kevin Pomeroy praised the girls’ team for their incredible achievement of winning the league while remaining unbeaten.

“To win any league is massive, but to do it and stay unbeaten is a magnificent achievement.” he said.

Three goals in the first-half of the North Bury Junior Football League Premier Cup sealed a 3-0 for the Avro under-14’s boys' team against Roach Dynamos.

The Avro under-10s boys' team were also victorious in a cup final.

The side won the East Manchester Junior Football League Cup at the Tameside Stadium after they defeated Manchester Corinthians 3-1 to bring home the trophy.

Avro’s under-13s boys won the EMJFL Cup final against Hyde United, silencing the roar of the young Tigers 2-0.

The club’s under-11’s bombers side delivered sortie after sortie as they won a high scoring game 8-4 to secure victory against a very capable Glossop North End team in the East Manchester U11 Prem A Fused Cup.

One of the club's youngest teams, the under-7s were not to be outdone as they also achieved a glorious victory after winning the under-8s shield in the Barnoldswick Town Juniors tournament.

“Congratulations to all of the players, coaches, and support staff on their recent outstanding achievements,” said Avro’s head of media, Rob Currell.

“These accolades achieved recently by both boy and girl teams in our club’s youth section show everyone that the future is flying at Avro FC.”
