Mossley boss Wild adds to backroom staff

BetVictor North West: Markse United 3-0 Mossley

Andrew Stephenson’s second half hat-trick condemned Mossley to a 3-0 defeat at Markse United.

The striker took his tally to eight for the season after netting the three goals in the space of 18 minutes.

The result leaves the Lilywhites 14th in the table ahead of Saturday’s home game against Ossett United.

Manager Dave Wild has since brought in recently departed Buxton boss Paul Phillips as his new assistant manager to freshen things up.

Phillips, 41, also has previous managerial experience with Ashton United, Stalybridge Celtic and Glossop North End where he was joint-manager with one time Mossley manager Steve Halford.

As a player Phillips was notable for his long and impressive goalkeeping career with Droylsden and he also played for Staybridge Celtic and Ashton United.

Mossley have also acquired Chester goalkeeper Theo Roberts until the end of the season and have also loaned young Oldham Athletic defender Jack Grundy.

Theo joins Mossley for the second time after his initial loan spell ended last week. He made 8 appearances in his first spell and impressed enough to be invited back.

Described as big, strong and quick Jack Grundy is a second year scholar at Oldham Athletic.

Jack had a loan spell earlier this season at North West Counties League club Barnoldswick Town.
