Curzon Ashton responded perfectly to last weekend’s defeat with a 4-1 thrashing of Banbury United on Saturday (March 23).

The Nash got off to a fantastic start in the match, taking the lead after just five minutes through Isaac Sinclair who latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball and slotted home from just inside the area.

Curzon then doubled their lead on 23 minutes when Jordan Richards’ pinpoint cross was headed in from close range by the onrushing Hayden Campbell.

Visitors Banbury then pulled one back just after the hour mark when forward Ben Beresford scored a debut goal to half the deficit.

Craig Mahon’s side then regained their two-goal cushion in first-half stoppage time when Alex Kenyon bundled the ball over the line from close range after Devon Matthews’ initial header cannoned back out off the bar and into his path.

After a relatively uneventful second half, substitute Stefan Mols made an instant impact and put the game beyond any doubt, turning in a cross from Jordan Richards to put his side four goals to the good with just 20 minutes to play.
