Oldham man jailed after police find gun at his house

An Oldham man has been jailed for five years after police found a gun at his house during a raid. 

Officers executed a warrant at Scott Robinson's home address on Higher Lime Road on Thursday 22 October 2020. 

During the search of the property, they found the firearm and Robinson was arrested a short time later. 

He was taken in to police custody for questioning and charged with possession of a firearm.

After pleading guilty at an earlier hearing, the 43-year-old was sentenced at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday (14 January). 

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Mossop, of GMP's Serious Crime Division, said: "This warrant was executed as part of an ongoing operation to tackle serious and organised crime. I hope this reassures members of the public that Greater Manchester Police is committed to making our communities safer.

"Though officers proactively gather intelligence, these investigations rely somewhat on those who live and work in our communities.
