Light Up A Life

Christmas is a poignant time of year when we remember those who are no longer with us, and the difference they made to our lives.

Each December, Light Up A Life brings together families and friends to remember loved ones at an evening service at Dr Kershaw's Hospice.

During the service, the hospice's dedicated tree will be illuminated to remember all those special people in our lives, followed by a carol service.

The lights on the tree will remain lit from dusk until dawn through to Monday 6 January 2020.

Healthcare Assistants, Carole England and Glynnis Goulding, said: “Having been part of the nursing team here at Dr Kershaw’s for many years, we know how much Light Up A Life means to everyone.

“It’s a special and poignant event, bringing families, friends, staff and volunteers together as we reflect and remember loved ones.

“By dedicating a light on the tree to your loved one your gift also helps us to continue providing the best care to patients and families.”

You can make a dedication in memory of a loved one online at www.drkh.org.uk/events/light-life/ or call the hospice's Fundraising team on 0161 624 9984. Alternatively, forms can be filled in on the evening.

There is no minimum amount for dedications, however, if your donation is £30 or more the hospice will send you a Light Up A Life pin as a keepsake.
