Kilo of cocaine and over £20k in cash seized in late-night raid

Police have recovered over a kilo of what is believed to be cocaine and approximately £20,000 cash from an address in Shaw.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Serious and Organised Crime Unit carried out searches at a house late on Monday evening (26 April).

Two women, aged 26 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. They remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Joe Harrop, for Greater Manchester Police's Economic Crime Section, said: "This result is a significant success in our efforts to clamp down on organised crime, and it's achieved through successful collaborative work across our teams.

"Not only has this removed £50,000 worth of drugs from our streets, we've also seized a significant amount of money, preventing this from being used again for criminal purposes."
