Witness appeal after paraglider died at Peak District beauty spot

Police have launched a fresh appeal for witnesses to an incident in which a paraglider died at a beauty spot in the Peak District.

Timothy Ogden, 53, from Sheffield, collided with the ground in the field opposite Mam Nic car park, close to Mam Tor.

It happened at around 6.45pm on Friday 14 August.

Known as 'Oggy', he was a popular member of the Derbyshire Soaring Club (DSC) paragliding group.

Police say a number of witnesses stayed at the scene and have been spoken to by officers.

However, due to the busy location, they are appealing for anyone who may have photographs or video of the incident to come forward.

Anyone with any footage is asked to contact Derbyshire police using the below methods, including reference 20*423587 in any correspondence:

• Facebook – send a private message to /DerbyshireConstabulary
