Reading Group at Glossop Labour Club produce recipe booklet

The Reading Group at Glossop Labour Club have been busy producing a second publication which will raise funds for Glossopdale Foodbank.

The group, which has been established for over 25 years, has around 20 members who meet on the first Monday of every month to discuss a variety of books, ranging from classic literature to modern works.

During lockdown, the group has met weekly via Zoom and members have had the opportunity to look at themes in poetry, and short stories as well as novels.

New members are welcome and if you would like more information or you’d like to join the group, contact Anne Robinson via email on margannerobinson@btinternet.com

Their first booklet of favourite poetry ‘Lockdown Lights’ was compiled in lockdown, and along with a special Zoom evening of poetry and song, raised around £1,500 for the Foodbank.

The recent booklet, ‘Food for Thought’ is a compilation of recipes inspired by literature. All tried and tested, these recipes will inspire you too.

People can donate to the Foodbank via https://localgiving.org/fundraising/foodforthought/

If you would like to have a copy of the booklet, contact Margaret Peters via email at margaret.peters@live.co.uk or copies are available at the club on Chapel Street.
