One of the Lowestoft evacuees was delighted to return to Glossop train station recently for the first time in years.
It's now 82 years since Alma Mingay first arrived in the town as one of the 600 child evacuees who came to Glossop from Lowestoft on 2 June 1940.
Accompanied by her son Steve, she was able to show him the station and reminisce about her evacuee days.
She has very fond memories of her five years in Glossop and the friends that she made.
Over the years, she has made numerous trips to the town to see family and friends but lockdowns in recent years have curtailed these visits.

In 2017 Alma, along with the late Bryan Howard, unveiled a commemorative plaque on behalf of the Lowestoft evacuees at Glossop station, at an event organised by Friends of Glossop Station.
This brought together many people in Glossop with Lowestoft connections.
A reunion of former evacuees is planned for 2 July this year at Lowestoft station.
