Help to make Christmas a little brighter for a lonely older person

Age UK in Glossop.

With Christmas fast approaching the Age UK shop in Glossop is encouraging locals to pop in to pick up a festive bargain and help rise vital funds.

Money raised will help pay for the charity’s services supporting older people, including their free Advice line and Telephone Friendship services, a lifeline for many at this time of year.

Deborah Hancock, Manager at the Age UK Glossop shop, said: “Not only will you be picking up a bargain, you’ll also be helping Age UK raise much-needed funds to continue supporting lonely older people throughout the festive season and beyond.”

The charity says around 500,000 older people are facing Christmas alone. To find out more about their work and how you could help support them go to www.ageuk.org.uk
