Foster families needed for older children and siblings

An appeal for more foster families to come forward to support siblings and older children in need of a loving, stable home, is being made by Derbyshire County Council.

While the council is looking for carers for children of all ages, the local authority is appealing to local families to help support older children and brothers and sisters across the county.

DCC’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Safeguarding, Councillor Julie Patten, said: “Fostering is an incredibly rewarding journey and your chance to make a huge difference to children’s lives.

“You’ll be supported by our team every step of the way and once approved you’ll receive benefits and financial support.

“If you’re ready to do something amazing we’d love to hear from you.”

Anyone interested in fostering can find out more at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/fostering or by contacting the council’s fostering team on 0800 083 77 44.
