Film star's appearance cancelled

A stand-up comic and multi award-winning film and stage actor, who was due to perform in Glossop on Friday, has had to cancel due to illness.

Dave Johns was due to return to the town on Friday evening with his all-new show 'Byker to Baftas' at Crystal Ballroom, followed by a Q&A.

But Crystal Ballroom - the function room above Harvey Leonards - tweeted on Wednesday afternoon to confirm that the show has been cancelled.

Anyone who has bought tickets can email to arrange for a refund.

They hope the show will be re-arranged for a future date.
