Nigel Skinner

Nigel is proud to have been editor of the Tameside Reporter for over 20 years.

In that time he has maintained the invaluable heritage of the papers, founded almost 170 years ago, and has played a part in penning and recording a big part of that history, not least in recent times.

His favourite part of the job is daily meeting so many different people.

Being able to bring the stories in the pages of the Reporter to the airwaves on Tameside Radio has been an equal and absolute joy for Nigel since the radio station first started broadcasting - whether that be helping to deliver daily news bulletins, or interviewing any number of guests for our weekly news magazine programme, the Reporter Show.

Tameside is home for Nigel, and when he’s not on air, you’ll most likely find him on stage in any one of the many am dram productions in Tameside’s fabulous local theatres.

You will hear Nigel most weekdays on Tameside Radio covering the local news bulletins, plus every Thursday night from 7pm as main presenter on our weekly Reporter Show, which is also repeated on a Friday at 8pm.
