Stalybridge Spring Show: Full schedule for 2024 event

Members of the Stalybridge Festival Committee are in full swing, adding the final touches to their plans for the yearly Stalybridge Spring Show in Cheetham Park on Sunday, May 3.

Organising Secretary, Ian Cochrane, has planned a jam-packed day of activities for the whole family, kicking off at 11am and featuring live entertainment starting from 12 noon.

A large family fun fair, hot food stalls, and numerous trader and community stalls will be featured at the event. The focal point of the festivities will once again be the iconic 5-meter high Maypole, taking centre stage in the Performance Arena within the park.

Members of Sarah England School of Dance will be performing 3 choreographed dances around the Maypole in their "spectacular" outfits.

Members of Dukinfield & Stalybridge Rotary Club will also be entertaining the crowd with their own performance this year - which they have been very busy practicing under the watchful eye of Sarah England.

For animal lovers, there will be a Fun Dog Show starting at 1.45pm. Anyone wanting to enter their furry companions will just need to turn up and register on the day. The categories will be:

  • Dog with the Loveliest Eyes
  • Dog with the Waggiest Tail
  • The Cutest Puppy
  • Best Presented Dog
  • Best Rescue Dog

Each category winner will have the opportunity to compete for the coveted title of Best Dog in Show.

Additionally, visitors can enjoy Dog Agility demonstrations taking place throughout the day in their dedicated performance area.

As a grand finale, the talented young members of Perform With Hart will showcase their talents to bring the curtain down on the festivities.

Ian said: "There will be lots of activities for all the family to have a great day in the Park and help us raise extra funds towards this year's Carnival."
