Three more arrested as police probe Glodwick gunshots

Officers in Oldham have arrested three more people in connection with a firearms discharge in Glodwick.

Police were called at around 5.30pm on April 25 to Minton Street, Oldham, after reports that the window of a local chip shop was damaged, believed to have been caused by a firearm.

Part of the road was closed off for several hours as officers carried out their enquiries and identified a suspect later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers carried out an arrest warrant this morning and detained a man.

Later in the day, two more men handed themselves into a police station.

All three men - aged 23 25 and 44 - remain in custody on suspicion of attempted murder. A fourth suspect arrested last week has been bailed.

Inspector Nick Helme said: "Even though we have made four arrests this is very much an ongoing investigation and I would like to thank the community for its help so far.

"We will always act on reports and intelligence from the public to keep our communities safe.

"Anyone with information, dashcam footage or who was in the area at the time should contact police on 101 quoting log 2758-25/4/24.

"You can also report information and crimes on our website (www.gmp.police.uk) using the 'report' tool.

"Alternatively, you can report information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Always call 999 in an emergency."
