The highly touted Indian hard rock band Fifth Note recently released their debut album, ‘Here We Are’.
Based in the city of Kohima, the capital of the north-eastern state of Nagaland, Fifth Note formed in 2019 from the ashes of what had been a Christian-themed outfit with prog metal and classic old school hard rock influences. Having started out performing covers (including songs by future label mates Stryper and Circus Maximus), they eventually released their own songs 'Misfortune' and 'Here We Are' as singles in 2021.
Local support slots followed on from those releases, performing from around their home state and beyond. The guys gained a considerable following, and resulted in them winning several prestigious awards.
The album, ‘Here We Are’ includes both of the early singles, plus nine more superbly crafted songs, best described as melodic hard rock meets progressive rock.
