Pupils at Moorside Primary Academy in Droylsden have created a heartwarming video to raise money for Kidscan.
The four-minute video shows pupils from all year groups dancing to Keala Settle's Oscar-nominated song This is Me from the 2017 film The Greatest Showman, having learnt all the moves themselves.
In doing so, they are raising money for Kidscan, the children's cancer research charity who work to find safer treatments for youngsters with cancer.
Ellen Patel, the Market Street school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator, put the video together. You can watch it at the top of the page.
Explaining the thought behind it, she said: "At Moorside, we have been focussing on celebrating differences with all of our children. We were due to work with Kidscan this term and still wanted to show our support and work alongside the charity, even though we are not all physically together.
"One of our Year 5 parents, Alison England, works for Kidscan and very kindly offered to sign the video for ‘This is Me’.
"From this, Sam Ismail (Assistant Vice principal) came up with the idea of setting a whole school challenge. I put the video together, with help from my husband Umesh Patel.
"We wanted the video to bring our children together, whilst raising money for a fantastic cause. The release of the video also coincides with Deaf Awareness Week and the signing used is simplified British sign language."
Principal Mandy Taylor tweeted: "Just amazing! So proud. Thank you Alison and Ellen for organising."
Vice Principal Fran Bradshaw said: "We may not be together at this time but Moorside are one big family. Please watch our amazing children who have learnt this for charity."
Alison, who works in Community Fundraising at Kidscan, said: "I am bursting with pride!!!!! Wow, wow, wow!!! Truly wonderful video and I am blown away with how wonderful you all are!!!! Thank you for your incredible support. Everyone at Kidscan are so grateful and extremely proud of every single one of you!!!"

Last month, staff at Moorside created their own positive and heartwarming video message to the tune of Charlie Puth's song 'One Call Away' as a way of letting the school community know that they are missing them and that they are only 'one call away'. Read more and watch it here.
