Bringing a VE Day picnic to vulnerable residents

Local councillors provided some love and care to vulnerable and elderly residents on VE Day by giving out small picnic boxes.

Cllrs Susan Quinn, Jackie Lane and the recently retired Dawson Lane made up the union jack boxes and filled them with sandwiches, chicken, meat pies, sausage rolls, trifle, chocolate and drinks.

They then distributed them to 25 residents in Dukinfield, Droylsden and Miles Platting, where they were gratefully received by residents celebrating the special occasion.
