Willow Wood shop ready to open in Denton

Willow Wood Hospice will open a new charity shop on Reddish Lane in Denton on Friday (7 August).

Like their shop on Old Street in Ashton, it will have upmarket boutique feel and will be stocked with high quality pre-loved goods and a small selection of brand-new gifts. 

Shop manager Rosie Molloy said: “I’m excited to finally be able to open our doors. Of course, the lockdown did have an effect on our schedule, but looking round the shop now, it’s all been worth it – it looks fantastic and I’m proud to be part of the Willow Wood family. 

“Opening here in Denton will not only be good for the local economy, but is so important to the hospice, as all our profits go to help local people.  

“My mother-in-law was cared for at Willow Wood, and after seeing the difference that care made to her final days, I became a volunteer, before being lucky enough to be appointed as part of the retail team.  

“Please come and look round – if you’ve never shopped in one of our hospice shops before you will be very pleasantly surprised at the quality and range of items we sell.  And if you’d like to help Willow Wood by volunteering in the shop, I can certainly recommend it.  Just call in and I’ll be glad to have a chat.” 

The new shop is at 105-107 Reddish Lane, M34 2NF and is open daily from 9.30am-4pm except for Thursday and Sunday.

'Bee shirts' 

Meanwhile, Willow Wood is inviting people to buy one of their newly designed ‘Bee shirts’ - specially created to capture the spirit of these unusual times.  

Featuring the Manchester Bee, and very cleverly using part of the Willow tree logo as the veins in its wings, the messages ‘Bee Alert’ and ‘Bee Safe’ on the tops couldn’t be more appropriate and are perfect for the summer.

The hospice is asking people to post selfies in their Bee shirts on the hospice’s social media.
