Willow Wood Hospice has announced that its Firework fundraising event has now been postponed.
One of the Ashton-based hospice's most popular events, it was due to take place this Saturday (24 October) at Daisy Nook Garden Centre.
But it has now been delayed until 6 March 2021 because of the ongoing coronavirus situation - with Tameside, as part of Greater Manchester, set to move to Tier 3 restrictions and a 'very high' Covid alert.
The hospice said: "We have taken the decision to postpone the Firewalk until 6 March 2021, due to the developing situation regarding lockdown.
"We have either contacted or left messages for everyone who was booked onto the event. We are sure you will all understand and agree with us that this is the safest and best solution.
"Thanks so much to everyone involved for your support - and we'll see you next March!"
