We're proud to be here for you in the toughest of times

A message from Quest Media Network's Executive Chairman, Chris Bird, to you - our readers, listeners, advertisers and local businesses.

It was just over a year ago when I became the Executive Chairman of Quest Media Group.

During that year we have made some big changes to our newspapers, our radio station and our website and we have had a fantastic response from the communities and people we serve.

With a weekly readership of almost 100,000, plus 50,000 listeners and 500,000 monthly page views on our website, our news, information and entertainment services are truly at the heart of the community.

However, we now face one of the most unprecedented and certainly one of the most challenging times in the newspaper’s proud 165 year history.

But we are here for you. Our whole team is working every day to bring you the news and information you need to know.

We want you to hear and read the facts from a trusted source that cares about its communities.

Tameside Radio will continue to entertain and inform you every day and our website is the go to place for everything you need to know locally, 24 hours a day.

To our advertisers and local businesses, please be assured we are here to help you too.

We know its tough on the high street and now, in many cases, it is almost impossible to trade.

I am committed to supporting local businesses and our high streets as much as we can through this period and beyond. Local businesses must be supported and we are here for you On Air, Online and In Print.

As someone who has grown up in Tameside and started my career 38 years ago at this very newspaper, aged 19, I am committed to ensuring our newspapers, radio and website continue to be around to serve their communities for many more years to come.

We face uncertain times but we are together as businesses, as communities, as families and as friends.

There is nowhere else I would rather be than right here where we can support one another.

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful NHS staff, our council, carers, emergency services and all of those key workers who we all too often take for granted but who now are in the frontline for all of us.

Thank you all for supporting us and we will always be here for you.

Chris Bird, Quest Media Network's Executive Chairman
