Wanted man found by police hiding in loft

A wanted man has been sent back to prison after he was found by police hiding in the loft of a house in Mossley.

Ryan Stone, 34, of Alt Grove in Ashton, was discovered by officers at an address on New Earth Street on Tuesday (28 September).

Officers from GMP Tameside's Neighbourhood Task Force (NTF) had tracked Stone down to the property.

They forced entry and after searching the property, found Stone trying to hide behind the chimney stack in the loft.

He was arrested and, following interview and consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, was charged with a domestic-related assault and threats to damage or destroy property.

Stone was further arrested for a revocation of his prison licence and later returned to prison.
