Tripping the light fantastic in Mossley

Delighted dancers were back in the swing of things after the easing of lockdown meant they could go back to class.

Mossley School of Dance had to close its doors, like many other community groups, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But the youngsters were back at Mossley Community Centre recently to see their friends and dance the morning away.

The community dance school, which has had to cancel its annual fund-raising show at the George Lawton Hall, was established in 1975 by principal and founder Marjorie Nield.

It specialises in ballet, tap and modern dance.

Its annual show raises cash for the NSPCC and children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent. Over the years the show has raised thousands of pounds for both charities.

Everyone is welcome at the community dance school, based on Roughtown Road, where pupils have the chance to shine.

For times of classes and more details contact dance teachers Rachel McKechnie on 07808 825263, Susan Furness on 07974 431098 or Catherine Stelfox on 07855 447930 or visit the school’s Facebook page.
