Tour of Tameside announces media partnership with Quest Media Network

Quest Media Network is proud to have partnered with the iconic Tour of Tameside as the official media partner for the four day running challenge.

The Tour of Tameside, delivered by North West health and wellbeing charity, The Running Bee Foundation, starts on 16th June until 19th June and will put runners through their paces across four different races.

The event takes in the best sights and surroundings that Tameside has to offer in Oldham, Stalybridge, Glossop and Hyde, and offers a variety of running routes and terrains challenging runners physically and mentally. The races have been chosen to be achievable for runners of all abilities.

The X-Trail 10K on Thursday 16th kicks off the four day running festival followed by Hell on The Fell on Friday (17th) evening. Saturday morning (18th) welcomes the Hero Half Marathon and the event finishes with the Dr Ron Hyde 7 on Sunday 19th.

Quest Media Network, owner of the Tameside Reporter, Glossop Chronicle, Oldham Reporter and Tameside Radio will sponsor all the water stations at each race, the lead car and presentation of race winners. Tameside Radio will be broadcasting live across the full weekend and interviewing runners at the start and finish lines.

Emma Marsh, Chief Executive of Quest Media Network commented, ‘’we’re proud to partner with The Running Bee Foundation for the Tour of Tameside again for 2022. It’s a privilege to be a part of such a hugely popular event loved by all of our communities. We can’t wait to cheer on the runners at the start and finish lines and keep the people of Tameside up to date on all the successes and achievements from the festival.’’

Also commenting, Lead for The Running Bee Foundation Steve Kenny, ‘’it’s great to be working with Quest Media Network and have them on board again as official media partner. They are a trusted resource in the area, so are an ideal community media partner for us.  Not only will they showcase the event itself but will spotlight all the good causes our participants run for and the health and wellbeing initiatives we support locally too!”

The Tour of Tameside was originally founded by local hero and marathon legend Dr Ron Hill MBE in 1983. One of Britain’s greatest runners and athlete, who ran every day for 52 years and 39 days - between 1964 and 2017, sadly passed on 23rd May 2021, aged 82 in his hometown of Hyde. The event will be in celebration of his life and love of running.
