Three join the Mossley revolution

Mossley manager Dave Wild has recruited the services of three new players ahead of the 2019/20 season in Evo-Stik West.

Asthley Mullholland, Nicky Platt and Will Ozono become the latest players to have signed for the Lilywhites.

Astley, 31, has previously played for Glossop North End, FC United and Chorley amongst others. The striker enjoyed a great campaign with Colwyn Bay during the 2017/18 season, becoming the top scorer and being voted into the Team of the Year.

Meanwhile, Platt joins the club having been with Hyde United last season. The midfielder has also enjoyed stints with Stockport County, FC United and Ashton United.

Ozono joins the club from FC United.

Of the signings, Wild told the club: “We tried to sign Nicky last season but just missed out on him. We stayed in contact and he was a lad I wanted to bring in. I had a small list of targets, Nicky was one of them and thankfully he’s joined us.

“It’s important that we’ve got some experienced lads at this level of football. Nicky fits the bill. He’s a really fit lad, a leader and very likeable on and off the pitch. He’s a player I can rely on at any time of the season and he’ll chip in with goals.

“Astley brings quality, knowhow and goals to the side. He’s already friends with some of the players and it helps when some of them know each other. I believe we can get the best out of him. It’s only a year ago since he signed full time at Barrow after an outstanding season and getting in the team of the year so I’m excited about what he’ll bring to the club.”
