There's fun for all the family in Dukinfield

Music and reading are being celebrated in a Fun Day that will have entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

Tameside Music and School Library services are hosting the event at The Birch Lane Centre, Birch Lane, Dukinfield, on Sunday, 26 June, from 11am to 3pm.

Tickets are just £1.50 per person, with family tickets available for £5, including unlimited turns on the bouncy castle, children’s books, live music, arts and crafts and much, much more. Tickets can be purchased in advance from Eventbrite here or on the door.

There will be live music all day showcasing performances by home grown talent from around Tameside. You can try out lots of musical instruments and take part in a Samba Drumming workshop, led by professional musicians.

If you are all about books, there will be lots for you to do from settling in to a reading corner, getting crafty or picking up some fab reads to take home.  Refreshments will be available for everyone and there are food heating and baby changing facilities available for the littlest members of your family.

Kate Campbell-Green, Head of Tameside Music and School Library Services, said: “We’re delighted to welcome everyone to our new home, next door to The Together Centre on Birch Lane. Music and reading play such an important part in young people’s lives and we are looking forward to celebrating both with the whole community.”

Councillor Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Education, Achievement and Equalities, said: “This promises to be a fabulous day for the whole family with performances from Tameside’s talented young musicians and musical instruments and workshops to try out, as well as books to read and buy and lots of activities to keep little ones happy. I hope as many people as possible will come along to join in the fun.”
