The Christmas that keeps on giving thanks to Dukinfield couple

A Dukinfield couple who turned their home into a winter wonderland to entertain local children at Christmas have raised more than £1,300 through the effort.

Stephen and Bernadine Horrocks had spent three weeks decorating their Dukinfield home on Dewsnap Lane in the countdown to the festive season.

They have created the impressive festive display for the last four years purely to bring some joy to the young and young at heart.

But this year was the first time that they had raised money, accepting donations for two great causes at Tameside Hospital - the children’s ward and neo natal unit - with the sum split evenly between the two.

Hundreds of people enjoyed the festive creation which included Santas, reindeer, snowmen and even a polar bear, with the newest addition a snow machine.

The amount raised was more than double the couple’s initial target of £500.

Stephen, Bernadine and their family would like to say a huge thank you to absolutely everyone for their kind donations.

They also say a big thank you to Plum and Toby for all the hard work in creating the winter wonderland.

The couple say they are looking forward to this Christmas and doing it all over again.
