A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm, as well as Class A and Class B drugs, after police raided a house in Hyde.
It followed an incident on Nelson Street in the town on Monday evening (August 10) where a man was seen with a handgun.
Officers from the Tameside District Tasking Team executed an evidence warrant at an address on Edna Street in Hyde, after enquiries "swiftly identified a suspect".
When carrying out a search of the property at around 8am on Tuesday morning (August 11), officers found an imitation firearm (pictured below) and a quantity of drugs.
Firearms officers and crime scene investigators also attended to help seize the weapon.
Police have since confirmed that a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with the intention to cause fear or violence, and possession of Class B drugs.
They also said that while he was in custody, the teenager was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply.
He was interviewed by detectives and has since been released under investigation.
