Tameside Jobs Fair moves online with lots of new temporary roles available

Tameside Jobs Fair, which was due to be held at Dukinfield Town Hall tomorrow, has moved online following the outbreak of coronavirus.

However, a host of new jobs have now become available as a result of the pandemic.

There is now a variety of temporary positions at organisations across the borough, including Tameside Council, the NHS, supermarkets, care work and delivery drivers, with many available to start immediately.

Tameside Council and Tameside Hospital are looking for individuals who can work in either their hospital or community settings over the coming months. Positions include home and community support, social work, cleaners and housekeepers, porters, catering assistants, nurses and occupational therapists.

Anyone planning on applying for these roles should be clear about the skills they have and the work they’re willing to do, as a variety of jobs are available, including some where no experience is needed.

Other employers with local vacancies include ASDA, Aldi, Greater Manchester Police, Deliveroo, Stockport Homes, Amazon, Hermes, Marks & Spencer and Comfort Call.

Cllr Brenda Warrington, Executive Leader of Tameside Council, said: “These are very difficult times but it’s great to see plenty of jobs are available at employers across the borough. Once these roles have been filled by local talent, our businesses will be in the best position possible to deal with the Tameside landscape, which is now very different as a result of coronavirus.”
