Hyde Fundraisers will be bringing their 'out of this world' characters back to Ashton town centre on Saturday (9 April).

The ‘eggciting’ event sees Ladysmith Shopping Centre ‘Spring Into Sci-Fi’ with a variety of characters created by the group’s volunteers.

Leading the way will be Darth Vader from Star Wars who will be making an appearance ahead of his return in the Disney+ series Obi Wan. The Dalek creator Davros will also be joined by other classic Dr Who characters from Cybermen to the Clockwork Droid. 

There will also see a return to The Planet of The Apes with a Gorilla soldier accompanied by orangutan Dr Zaus. After its recent screening on Forces TV, shoppers may also encounter the Federation Guards from cult TV series Blake’s 7. There will be special window displays too featuring popular cut-out characters from the world of sci-fi to add to the theming of this year’s event.

SP Bowling from Hyde Fundraisers said: “We are thrilled to return to the Ladysmith once again with our characters. The shopping centre has always been a generous supporter of the work we do and help us with our fundraising for local and national charities. 

“Our volunteers enjoy meeting shoppers and making great memories for families when they come along and see us.”
