Spreading the joy of Christmas in Mossley

Mossley parishioners are snapping up Christmas cards with a picture of one of the stained glass windows from St George's Church.

The beautiful cards will help the church raise much-needed funds throughout the festive season.

The Vicar of Mossley, Father David Warner said: “We’re delighted to bring this beautiful card for sale this Christmas - St George’s Church has some extraordinarily fine Victorian stained glass, and this window, of the shepherds hearing the news of Jesus’ birth from the angels, designed by the then world famous Comere and Capronnier from Belgium, is especially beautiful.

“We hope that Christmas cards will be another way of staying in touch with those we are unable to meet with face to face in the challenging season ahead, as well as being a reminder that Christmas still brings light into the darkest parts of our world.”

The cards (with envelopes) are available for £4 for five cards from the church, or by contacting Fr David on 07506 723946 or 01457 237667.
