Special guest joins Mossley Heritage Centre celebrations

A special guest has popped into Mossley Heritage Centre as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.

Wednesday (13 October) was a special day at Longlands Mill as Terry Waite CBE paid a visit to the centre on Queen Street.

Terry officially opened the centre back on 13 October 2001, along with the Mayor and Mayoress of Mossley, Councillor Roy and Ann Etchells.

There were speeches, presentations, tours of the centre and a performance by Mossley Morris Men to mark the occasion, which was organised by volunteers from the centre.

A plaque was also unveiled for founding member and Honorary President of Emmaus Mossley, Richard Darlington.

The afternoon event was also an opportunity for local people to learn more about the fascinating museum and the dedicated people who have invested their time and energy to develop the centre over the past two decades.
