Serving up brave Denton girl's breakfast treat

Smiles from the family as they prepare to tuck in!

A little girl who bravely battled a rare form of leukaemia for two and a half years has had her wish granted - breakfast with the family at Frankie and Benny’s.

Eight-year-old Libby Singleton-Moss, from Denton, finally rang the bell to signal the end of her treatment a fortnight ago and when asked how she wanted to mark it, she chose the popular restaurant chain.

After appearing in the Reporter last week, the restaurant chain kindly offered to welcome the family free of charge for a celebratory breakfast.

It was a lovely ending to two and a half years of treatment for Libby and her family, who celebrated with our photographer on hand to capture all of the action.

Dad Paul, mum Debs, sister Pippa and twin brother Tom were all treated to the special occasion by the Frankie and Benny’s restaurant at Crown Point North in Denton.

Last week we reported how her school, St John Fisher RC Primary School in Haughton Green, celebrated the end of her treatment by inviting her family to appear in front of the school while she rang the bell once again to signal the end of her treatment.

Local businesses, including Morrisons and Britt’s Balloons, donated gifts and displays for the event, which saw the entire school gather on the playground to pass on their wishes to Libby.

Libby’s family say they’ve been overwhelmed with the amount of love that everyone has shown them and thanked the school for all they’d done.

Libby’s mum Debs said: “I don’t think we could’ve done it without them.

“What the school have done is recognised that it’s not just about Libby it’s about the welfare and care of her siblings as well and for us.”

St John Fisher deputy headteacher Robert Tanti said: “We’re very proud of the courage that she has shown through this whole journey. It’s been a true inspiration.”
