Put PEN to paper and have a greater say

Residents and community groups have had their say on a range of topics from the Bee Network cycling proposals to sexual health services.

The opportunity came at the eighth Partnership Engagement Network (PEN) Conference, held recently at Hyde Town Hall.

The initiative is a joint one between Tameside Council, Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (T&G CCG) and Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (T&G ICFT) and enables local organisations and groups to meet with the public.

PEN has an increasing number of conference registrations, a growing mailing list, and more workshop choices than ever before.

To receive the Eventbrite invitation for future PEN conferences and keep up to date with other engagement opportunities across Tameside, Glossop and Greater Manchester, people can join the PEN mailing list at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/pensignup

Cllr Eleanor Wills, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Health & Social Care, Population Health, said: “We’re proud of PEN, and I hope the people who attend are too. By joining PEN you too can help expand its scope and improve the process of public engagement in Tameside.”

Cllr Wills opened the conference with a welcoming speech, and was followed by Dr Asad Ali, co-chair of T&G CCG and Jane McCall, Chair of T&G ICFT.

The conference included informative  presentations on the CCG Estates Strategy and North West Ambulance Service followed by two rounds of interactive workshops.

The conference concluded with a networking opportunity for the representatives of the local community, voluntary, faith, resident, patient and public sector organisations and groups in attendance.
