Two women have been arrested after two people were stabbed during a fight which broke out in a house in Dukinfield.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said the force was called at around 4.05pm on Tuesday afternoon (11 January) to Astley Street to a report of a fight involving knives.
Emergency services attended and enquiries established that two people - a man and a woman - had been stabbed inside a property on the street.
They were taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening or changing and have since been released.
A cordon was in place for several hours on nearby Brunswick Street.
A local resident told the Reporter there was a large emergency service presence, with a number of police vehicles, ambulances and an air ambulance seen in the area.
After launching a full investigation, it was confirmed on Wednesday evening (12 January) that detectives have since arrested a 36-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman in the Dukinfield area on suspicion of section 18 assault.
GMP say they remain in custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing.
